Course programme

Structure and assessment Program Structure

You are required to complete 15 units, comprising of six core units shared with the Master of Information Technology that covers the body of knowledge of ICT as defined by the Australian Computer Society. In addition you complete four units that extend your core knowledge. These units cover business processes management, e-business systems, big data and business intelligence, knowledge audits and business analysis.

The course also offers a 12 credit point capstone project where you demonstrate your knowledge by completing a discipline project. The course offers four elective units one of which is ERP systems management. Other elective units can be selected from business or information technology (IT) units or you can build a minor through Graduate Diploma of Project Management.

Work integrated Learning

As a student of The Master of Information Systems course you are able to apply for an internship. To qualify for the internship, you need to undertake BUSN20017 Effective Business Communications as an elective as this is a preparatory unit for the internship. This unit will prepare you for working with the internship host.

Work integrated learning is a feature of this program, and you can accomplish this by either completing the capstone project unit or an internship.

To qualify for the internship you must be in good academic standing, successfully pass the CQUniversity English Language Placement test and complete an interview with the internship host.
