About this course

Choosing your own modules leaves the field wide open for you to tailor your studies according to your desired career path. You may wish to pursue a future in the private or the public sector, as an in-house lawyer in a specialised industry, in academia or even in research. The possibilities are endless!

A first degree in Law (or a subject in a related discipline, such as Business, Political Science or International Relations) at a minimum of 2:2. Or, an overseas qualification which is equivalent to a UK Honours degree, minimum 2:2 classification.

You must also satisfy the University’s English language requirement for the course, which is a GCSE grade 4 or above (Grade C or above under the old grading structure), or IELTS at 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band.

This Programme is validated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority for Continuing Professional Development purposes.

Course programme

What will I study?

All of our law modules are taught by specialist practitioners in their fields, and supported by group work, discussions, debates, and practical sessions to consolidate your learning and develop those vital skills of persuasion and negotiation, leadership, teamwork and presentation. Independent study is also crucial to deepen your knowledge, and will be supported throughout your course.

Assessment is carried out via a combination of coursework, written assessments and practical tasks, depending on the modules chosen. A peer support and mentoring scheme is also available, to help students adapt, and to further enhance the development of those essential skills and abilities.
