Course description, features and facilities This is a non-award* course which ranges from approximately one semester to 1.5 years (3 semesters) of full-time study, depending on prior study. On successful completion of their studies, students may receive a conditional offer for the Master of Professional Engineering.
A student who has completed some studies in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Computing to an appropriate level within their undergraduate bachelor's degree may be eligible to have these studies recognised, reducing the length of their course.
*A non-award course is a program of study which does not lead to a formal award. It may comprise a unit or units of study from an award course and may be counted as credit towards an award course in some cases.

Course programme


Structure

(1) The course comprises the units required for admission to the Master of Professional Engineering taken from the following:

(a) units required to complete a degree-specific major in Engineering Science (MJD-ENGSC) as relevant to the choice of program in the Master of Professional Engineering;

and

(b) where there are unmet prerequisites, additional units from those offered in the Bachelor of Science and approved by the Faculty.

(2) Students may be permitted to enrol in units from their chosen Master of Professional Engineering specialisation up to a maximum total value of 48 points as approved by the Faculty for which credit may be transferred to the Master of Professional Engineering on successful completion of the Preliminary course.

(3) The course will normally not exceed 72 points.
