Multimedia is the combined use of text, graphics, sound, animation, and video. A primary objective of this workshop is to teach participants how to develop multimedia programs. Another objective is to demonstrate how still images, sound, and video can be digitized on the computer. Participants in this workshop will create their own multimedia courses using HyperStudio on the Macintosh platform. HyperStudio is an authoring tool that allows you to develop an electronic stack of cards that contain buttons, graphics, and text.

About this course

Course Objectives
Our three overarching goals this semester are:
1. mastery of in-depth reporting and writing skills across different media platforms;

Graduates

Courses in multimedia cover a wide range of topics, most commonly web design and digital arts. Computer-based courses may involve training on video game design and creation. Many students seeking a degree or training choose courses in multimedia that focus on how to design a Flash® web site. Some courses in digital video editing teach students how to edit video recordings on a computer. Music production and music mixing courses are commonly taken by students who are interested in a professional music career.

Various courses in multimedia can be completed online. This type of arrangement is convenient for individuals who have busy schedules and cannot attend classes in person. In many cases, online courses in multimedia may offer the opportunity to receive a degree. Choosing an online course in multimedia should involve some research to find the best training at the most affordable cost.
