A Master of Software Engineering (Cloud Computing, Advanced) is for experienced software engineers who want to significantly deepen their knowledge and pursue specialist careers in the field. It covers advanced knowledge from cloud computing and DevOps in diverse contexts, including social impact and emerging technologies, and offers sophisticated technical, operational and software management skills.

This degree is purpose-built to suit your unique needs and creative challenges. You will learn by working on industry projects, approaching wide-ranging topics from an entrepreneurial mindset, and exploring the design thinking, ethics and moral values required in tech. Throughout the course, you’ll build an awareness of the software engineering body of knowledge and apply advanced cloud computing and DevOps knowledge to various challenges, with a view towards ethics of practice in a global and sustainable context. You also have the option to exit with a Graduate Certificate of Software Engineering, a Graduate Diploma of Software Engineering (Cloud Computing) or a Master of Software Engineering (Cloud Computing).

Course programme

Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours self-directed study. Capstone project: 6 hrs facilitated study and 14 hrs self-directed study per week. Major project (Advanced): 12 hrs facilitated study and 28 hrs self-directed study per week.

International students must not enrol in more than one-third (33%) of online subjects over their course, and must study at least one face-to-face subject each study period. Please note that due to COVID-19, authorities have provided exceptions to the usual face-to-face learning requirements.

International students on a student visa are required to study full time (i.e. must complete a minimum of 1.0 EFTSL of study per year).
