These two degrees are undertaken part-time and simultaneously, forming a full-time candidature. Places in this program are only available to postgraduate students who have been offered a place in one of the designated clinical streams after a vacancy has been advertised.

Study planA candidate for the Master of Veterinary Studies will satisfactorily complete units of study granting 48 credit points in supervised elective units of study. They will be enrolled in a stream from the list below:

Graduate opportunities
The Faculty of Veterinary Science's combined MVetStud/MVetClinStud degree offers practical advanced clinical training in selected disciplines for veterinarians who want to enhance their clinical skills and/or seek to become veterinary specialists.
This combined program is aligned to assist candidates to obtain credentials required to be considered eligible by Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVSc) to sit Fellowship examinations. Many of these credentials also fulfill the requirements of the equivalent European or American Diplomate/Specialist requirements in some fields.
Students undertaking this combined degree can progress to candidature in a Doctor of Philosophy.
