Who should study this course?
GCSE grade C in Mathematics is often considered a necessary qualification in education and by employers, and most students would be recommended to try to gain this if they are able. All students would be expected to have already achieved at least a grade D or have successfully completed the pre GCSE course. Other qualifications would be considered from mature students or students with qualifications from overseas. Students will require a scientific calculator; the department will be able to sell you one in September at a very reasonable price
Where can I go next?
As well as being considered a necessary qualification as part of a general education, GCSE grade C is a requirement for starting A level in Mathematics and often for other A levels such as Physics, Chemistry, Business Studies or Accounts. A good grade is also helpful in many other areas of study.
