Why study the Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours)The Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) program is designed to further cultivate mathematical and communication skills that students have developed throughout their undergraduate studies.The research project will ensure that students investigate one particular topic to a deep and thorough level of scholarship, with a requirement of producing written and oral outputs of the highest quality. The students will also broaden their mathematical skills by undertaking advanced coursework. This expectation that students devote themselves to a single, in-depth research project over the course of the year, while concurrently undertaking a broad range of advanced courses, will ensure that UQ produces outstanding graduates at the core of the next generation of mathematicians.

Entry requirementsBachelor of Mathematics or equivalent with:An overall GPA of 4 and a GPA of at least 4.5 over #8 of late year courses from Part B of the Bachelor of Mathematics course list; andSatisfy any additional requirements set by the Head of School.IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6.
