Interested in developing knowledge of a range of mathematical skills together with an understanding of the principles of economics? Our BSc Mathematics with Economics concentrates on the methods and modelling techniques of mathematics, but also provides the theoretical background for these ideas. If you have mathematical abilities and are interested in the theory of the subject and in the application of mathematical methods to economics and finance, then this is the degree for you.
Training in the mathematical sciences is highly valued by employers. Graduates in these subjects are in great demand and earn on average 10% more than other graduates. Around 35% have jobs in business or finance, with the next most popular choice being teaching, at around 10%.
This programme is also available for part-time evening study over four years.

About this course
Graduates can pursue careers in business, banking and finance, research or analysis. This degree can also be useful in becoming an operational researcher, mathematical research scientist, financial risk analyst or economist.
