The modules we outline here provide examples of what you can expect to learn on this degree course based on recent academic teaching. Year 1In addition to taking core modules in Mathematics, you will study the basic concepts and principles of both macroeconomics and micro-economics, and see how they can be applied to a variety of problems. Previous study of Economics is not required.
Year 2You will take a range of core and optional modules in Mathematics. The available options include areas relevant to Business, such as statistics and statistical modelling. In the Economics modules, you will gain a deeper understanding of the tools used in economic analysis and their applications to many key economic issues.
Year 3In Mathematics, you will be able to choose from a wide range of optional modules. In the Economics modules, you will see how mathematical techniques are used in valuing and managing financial instruments, and how statistical techniques are applied to economic data.
