Course programme

You develop your basic mathematical skills and understanding. Modules consolidate Mathematics and Further Mathematics A-level topics, including concepts of proof and logical argument.

You’re introduced to statistical and computing applications, many of which relate to business models. Two projects allow you to explore mathematics that interest you. You might have the opportunity to take Foundation Mechanics or Foundation Programming. You also choose from a range of options including a language, academic development or business in society.

Each module has a number of lectures each week, supported by regular workshops in a smaller group. Module assessments contain coursework such as problem sheets, short exams, presentations and written examinations.

These modules are running in the academic year 2018/19. We also plan to offer them in future academic years. They may become unavailable due to staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum. We’ll make sure to let our applicants know of such changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
