Your study will include core mathematics, pure mathematics, applied mathematics and probability and statistics. You can specialise later in your course, and can often switch between our degrees.

Throughout the course, you'll complement your maths study with language modules from the Modern Language Teaching Centre. Your third year is spent at a German university, learning mathematics in German. You'll need a qualification in the relevant language before starting this course.

About this course

In the age of big data, major companies are increasingly reliant on graduates with numerical skills.

Our graduates go on to finance-related careers: accountancy, actuarial work, public finance, insurance. There are lots of other choices too, including: teaching, advertising, software development, operations research, drug development and meteorology.

Employers include PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte & Touche, GCHQ, British Airways
and the European Space Agency.

Many of our graduates choose further study at Masters and PhD level.
