-Module Title:Personal Skills Development
Aims: develop common skills needed to succeed on programme and at work: develop, apply and assess skills; enable reflective approach to learning; develop a personal portfolio; establish a foundation for personal development.
Credits:15
Assessment Submission Dates: 100% coursework requiring the production of a portfolio evidencing the demonstration of learning outcomes. Will be required to undertake self-analysis and produce personal development plan with portfolio evidencing achievement of plan and reflective commentary. To be submitted at end of course before dissertation. Assessed as pass/fail.

-Module Title:Strategic Management
Aims: To introduce the student to the strategy process in a range of organisational contexts.
Credits:15
Assessment Submission Dates: Time constrained assessment. Students will have 24 hours to complete a case study based examination. Required to demonstrate the ability to analyse a strategic situation; justify application of strategic models; generate options; develop implementation plan.

-Module Title: Marketing Management
Aims: Investigate the role and function of marketing within context of changing markets and increasing international competition.
Credits:15
Assessment Submission Dates: 100% coursework requiring an analysis of a case study and the formulation of appropriate strategies based on the findings. Analysis of a marketing problem with international dimension and application of marketing theories to propose solution.

-Module Title:Managing the Human Resource
Aims: develop critical awareness of HR contribution to workplace effectiveness; apply theoretical HR models to variety of work situations; study impact of organisation design on the effectiveness of people.
Credits:15
Assessment Submission Dates: Coursework: case study analysis of HR problems in the workplace. Analyse HR problem relating to leadership of a group of people and, using appropriate theoretical basis, propose possible solutions.

-Module Title:Operations Management
Aims: To investigate the context and processes of management operations;
show how operations management is central to achievement aims; develop skills in the use of operational management techniques

Assessment Submission Dates:Individual coursework applying principals of operations management to an organisation and developing recommendations; develop case study of an operations management decision; undertake critical analysis of implementation and, using appropriate theories, suggest ways it could have been improved.

-Module Title: Financial Management
Aims: to provide participants with tools to interpret and evaluate information and utilize the findings for decision making purposes.
Credits:15
Assessment Submission Dates: Time constrained assessment. Students will have 24 hours to complete as assessment comprising of compulsory questions which will require: analysis of financial data: use of spreadsheets; demonstrating of understanding of financial principals.

-Module Title: Managing Change in Organisations
Aims: provide students with: an understanding of the nature of organisational change; the role of a manager in dealing with change; skills which will allow positive contribution to the change process.

Assessment Submission Dates:Individual coursework based on individual analysis and critique of an organisational change which the student has experienced or has knowledge of. Work must explain reasons for change; provide critique of the process and, using appropriate models, suggest how the process could have been improved. (approx. 4000 words)

-Module Title:Research Methods
Aims: provide conceptual framework from which research philosophies, strategies and methods can be critically reviewed. Develop research competencies (data collection and analysis) that enable students to design, undertake and evaluate independent research.

Assessment Submission Dates: Submission of a research proposal demonstrating understanding of methodological and other issues. The proposal must have: clear and appropriate aims; a justification of the methodology chosen; a brief literature review; a project plan. ( approx. 4000 words)

-Module Title:Dissertation
Aims: to enable the student to prepare a dissertation that applies managerial and research techniques to a significant organisational issue or problem.
Credits:60
Assessment Submission Dates: 100% individual coursework. Production of dissertation of approx 20,000 words with recommendations which would be of value to an organisation.
