The tourism sector in general, and hotel sector in particular, are undergoing an accelerated transformation in the area of marketing, retail and sales. A firm command of online tools is crucial for running hotel establishments. The high degree of competition in this field requires the figures of Director of eCommerce and Director of Revenue Management to play a key role in the modern hotel industry.
The Executive Master in Tourism Marketing and Hotel Revenue Management is the only master in Spain that fulfils the following two points. There is currently no other university college that trains its students alongside executives in the sector using the same tools used by most companies. All the courses have a fully practical approach focusing on professionalizing students.
The Master is primarily designed for professionals with experience in the tourism sector and the hotel industry, in particular, who want to grow and acquire new responsibilities in the areas of marketing, commercial management and e-commerce. The program is also designed to train entrepreneurs who want to break into the industry by setting up small hotel businesses or complementary service companies.
About this course
Personal and executive skills development: These are required to make progress through the different professional levels. Executive skills enable students to tackle critical moments in their career. In management positions, professionals need to know how to manage people, teams, emotions, conflicts and negotiations.
From a personal perspective, students have to learn how to create their own personal brand, manage their network of contacts, draft a good curriculum and respond appropriately in work interviews, among other skills.
Knowledge of online and offline marketing: Professionals need a firm grasp of both online and offline marketing. As such, students are given an in-depth insight into the cases, tools and analyses of online marketing for hotels, including content managers, SEO, SEM, email marketing, analytics, online reputation, social media and blogs, among other aspects.
The program also focuses on offline marketing, as it is essential to be have a command of marketing plans, customer segmentations, competition analysis, using a CRM and working with press offices and advertising and public relations agencies.
Developing sales and commercialization strategies: The hotel commercialization courses are divided into three areas. Particular attention is paid to sales strategies, campaign planning and sales team management. The hotel commercialization course focuses on the different types of intermediaries, contracting, participation in trade fairs and creating tourism packages.
Lastly, students learn about hotel finances from a practical perspective, enabling them to understand an income statement, draft the budget of their department and interpret a balance sheet, costings for sales and business results deviations.
