Solids, Fluids/Thermodynamics/Energy, Dynamics/Controls, Design/Manufacturing/Tribology, MEMS/Nanotechnology, Biomedical/Biology, Mathematics/Sciences, Engineering Management 4 MS with Thesis: MECH ENG 590 Research 3 MECH ENG 512 Seminar (must be taken in all quarters of full-time registration) 0 A minimum number of 400-level courses 5 Departmental courses (MECH ENG or as listed in the most recent ME Graduate Handbook) 5 MS Non-Thesis: MECH ENG 499 Project (independent research) 1 A minimum number of 400-level courses 5 Departmental courses (MECH ENG or as listed in the most recent ME Graduate Handbook) 7 Total required units: (At least five courses excluding 499/512/590 must be 400-level) 12 Other MS Degree Requirements- Examinations: addresses research project
- Research/Projects: research report on topic of interest to both student and advisor

- Research/Projects: research of publishable quality, in close cooperation with faculty advisor, as basis for PhD dissertation
