Media and interaction design is about designing and developing engaging solutions for new media.
You get a highly industry-relevant education that enables you to design prototypes on new media, and evaluate the user experience of both media producers and media users.

About this course
Upon completion of the master’s programme, you will have a competence that combines technical development with critical and creative thinking. You gain advanced knowledge within interaction design, and a specialized insight into the field of interaction design for the media.
The study programme provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a project that allows you to combine technical development work and content production related to the media.
Today, most sectors are digitized and there is an increasing awareness about making digital solutions more user friendly. Being able to understand what users need in different situations, and to make solutions for this are skills and knowledge that are increasingly sought after.

Course programme
The Master's Programme in Media and Interaction Design is a two-year full-time study that starts in August.
First semester:
- MIX301 Media Technology: Theory and Development (15 ECTS)
- INFO361 Research Topics in Human-Machine Interaction (HCI) (15 ECTS)
Second semester:
- MIX302 Research Design and Field Studies (30 ECTS)
Third and fourth semester:
- MIX350 Master Thesis (60 ECTS)
You may conduct the Master's project in collaboration with a media or media technology company. You can contact the company on your own to make arrangements for cooperation, but different companies will also come and present their ideas for master's projects.
- Four student projects awarded scholarships
The practical work related to the master project can be a prototype of a practical application, but can also be an evaluation of an interactive medium or a production study.
