What is this course about? Intensive, practical training for people who want to go on to higher education or work in the media industry.

Who is this course for? This course provides intensive practical training to those who wish to go to higher education or enter the media industry.

What do I need to get on the course? You need interest, energy and enthusiasm, and a willingness to contribute fully to work in a group. You do not need formal qualifications, but you must be able to demonstrate that you have good communication skills. This course is not suitable for graduates.

What will I study? Learn camera, lighting, scriptwriting, sound recording, editing and other techniques and work in a team producing programmes including documentaries and drama. You also learn about film analysis, prepare for a seminar and write about films. We provide help with note taking, writing skills and research. You work independently and in small groups. After initial training, students organise themselves and operate like a small film/video.

What qualification will I get? LOCN (London Open College Network) Access Certificate or LOCN credits.

What can I do after the course? To higher education courses or work in a television studio or video production company, cable or satellite TV, community media and arts projects.

How do I get on the course? For September 2008 entry complete a College application form

How much does the course cost? Home students fee for September 2008 will be £1,180 per year. Concessionary students pay a £40 annual registration charge which covers any courses where concessions are available.
