Carers are now often in the position of administering medicines, this course is an introduction to medicines, covering the legal categories of medicines, different types of administration, the complete process of medicines management from ordering, receiving, administering and disposing of medicines. Controlled medicine regulations are covered. Certain groups of medicines are used more frequently in care homes and these are looked at in more detail, including medicines used for heart problems, warfarin, painkillers, laxatives, and antidepressants.
