Our medical program is one of the most highly regarded degrees of its kind in Australia and is taught by experts who are passionate about a host of medical specialties. During your studies you'll master clinical sciences and a range of practical skills, to be prepared for the challenges and rewards of being a doctor.The Doctor of Medicine is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and personal qualities expected of leading junior doctors. There are two entry pathways: Provisional Entry (for school leavers) or Direct Entry (for university graduates).The program is structured in two phases: Clinical Preparation and Clinical Practice. Across the program, you'll transition from studying specific cases in classes with a tutor to undertaking clinical rotations in hospitals.Clinical Preparation (years 1 and 2) combines the study of basic and clinical sciences with training in research, ethics, public health and clinical skills. You'll also complete an apprentice-style Observership to gain insight into life as a doctor.Clinical Practice (years 3 and 4) involves undertaking different rotations at a clinical school. Each clinical rotation is eight-weeks long. There are 11 Clinical Schools: nine in Queensland and two overseas (one in Brunei and the other in the US).We aim to be internationally renowned for our outstanding people, the diversity of our student intake, and the excellence of our education. Entry requirements1. Direct (Graduate) Entry: GPA of 5 in a key degree, and GAMSAT. Entry is competitive based on GAMSAT or MCAT (for international applicants) and GPA.2. Provisional Entry: OP1 or Rank 99, Year 12 or equivalent English, and UMAT or ISAT (for international applicants).
