About this course

Study at the No.1 Nursing & Midwifery Faculty in the UK and No.3 in the world (2017 QS World University Rankings)
Learn from internationally-renowned clinicians and academics – as well as visiting professors and guest speakers
99% of our graduates find successful employment.
Care for a diverse population of pregnant women during placements at leading NHS trusts like St Mary’s (home of the Lido Wing favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge), and optional electives in East Asia, Africa or Australasia
Gain experience in our simulation centre, with full body patient simulators who breathe, respond to drugs, and have measurable blood pressures and pulses.

Midwives who graduate from King's are actively recruited by both national and international employers. Many are involved in innovative practices and others work as independent midwives. Many return for further graduate study in midwifery or women's health.

Every element of this programme prepares you for practice. When it’s time to graduate, you’re ready to provide high quality care to women, from pregnancy to the postnatal period.

Our mentoring programme means you can access support and advice from working midwives. They’ll support you during your studies, and throughout your first year of work.

Many of our midwives stay on to work at the trusts where they completed placements. Others secure roles at one of our other NHS trusts partners or at other hospitals around the UK.

You also have the option of continuing your study to specialise further. Or why not choose a different (but just as rewarding) career path like teaching, research, or management?

Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A-levels. However, if offered the grade achieved may be taken into account when considering whether or not to accept a candidate who has just fallen short of the conditions of their offer.
