This course will provide a broad introduction to the diverse legal world and its various practice areas while engaging with intellectual discourse on civil rights, free speech, and how citizens of a society engage with legal systems in place. Students will explore what motivates lawyers to practice law and will come to understand whether a life in law is right for them.

The course will also examine the use of legal skills outside of the courtroom and the law firm. Students will explore a range of non-lawyer careers and investigate how a legal background can be an asset in a variety of fields including business and journalism.
