Mindfulness and Counselling Skills Joint Course Mindfulness is a philosophy and state of mind derived from Buddhist faith, but applicable to both multi-faith and non-faith therapy work. It is being used extensively in private and state provided therapy services as an appropriate way of addressing emotional issues and assisting in the management of long term conditions. This course provides personal reflection and professional techniques using mindfulness, and relates them closely to the National Occupational Standards for Healing. Further core knowledge lessons provide a sound training in Counselling Skills, including discussion of the revised Counselling National Occupational Standards.  The counselling models discussed include humanistic, psychodynamic, gestalt and basic CBT along with crucial counselling skills.
