This intermediate level course introduces students to working with a range of mixed metals used in jewellery construction. Over the 10 sessions, as your confidence increases, you will build upon your existing skills enabling you to create a collection of pieces using a variety of traditional jewellery, silversmithing techniques and combining materials to stunning effect.
Some of the specialist techniques covered include hot & cold connections processes using a variety of common metals; students will then progress to using silver and gold once the essential techniques are mastered.
You will be taught the necessary skills needed to size, shape, texture, form, join and finished metal pieces, including how to use the tools and equipment to add dimensions to your jewellery and create beautiful bespoke pieces.
Delivered by our highly experienced jeweller and tutor, Heidi Dawson, this course is ideal for those with some previous experience or students who have already completed our Silversmithing Jewellery Workshop short courses and understand the basic skills of jewellery making.
