Introduction:
The programme has been developed for personnel whose responsibilities involve working on Mobile Elevated Platforms
Objectives:
To provide the knowledge and practical operating skills to work safely on various types of machines, on completion of the programme operatives will be able to understand their responsibility under the: Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other applicable regulations, company and operator safety codes.
Programme Synopsis:
Pre-operational checks: fluid levels, tyres, wheels, brakes, instruments, horn, lights and flashing beacon, hydraulics, safety devices, steering, battery levels, emergency lowering devices, safety harness, securing point, outriggers (if fitted) etc.
Operator safety checks: safety harness (before use and correct wearing), securing safety harness to correct anchor point
Travelling to working area: setting up machine in preparation for work, pre-determining height and locations etc
Setting up in confined area: using all controls to position machine
Carry out work tasks
End of work checks and parking
Attending delegates need to supply their own harnesses, hard hats, hi-vis jackets, waist coats and hard boots.Please ensure they bring their National Insurance numbers with them for certification purposes.
