Modelling in Wax

Course description:
This is an exciting opportunity to model a subject of your choice in wax approximately 7"x4"x4" paying attention to not only the different techniques and the use of individual tools, but having the ability to capture the movement and detail of the subject. The completed wax sculpture may be cast in Bronze using the Ceramic Bronze Casting method at a course at Shute Farm Studio on September 17th - 21st or be retained to be cast by yourself on another occasion.

The course will cover:
•the specific process of sculpting in wax
•the use of the necessary tools and equipment during the course
•finishing techniques
•a brief talk on the process of casting

Materials/Items to bring:
•Metal modelling tools if you have them
•A picture of your chosen subject
•Pen or pencil and sketchbook
•References to your chosen subject
•Please wear comfortable practical clothing and substantial shoes
