Modern Language Studies BA (Joint Hons) 3 year course

This is a three year degree programme which is available to those applicants who can prove with good reason that they are unable to undertake the year abroad required of the standard four-year degree programmes. All our languages also have native-speaker teachers and language assistants to help your language learning. The Sydney Jones Library is situated next to the Department. In addition, the School has its own library which is stocked with language learning materials and an extensive foreign language film collection and houses a satellite TV suite where students can watch television in any of a number of languages. Lab sessions are integrated in all our language programmes, ensuring our students improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills using the latest language lab software available. Over the summer of 2015 we built a brand new language lab for students. It is fitted with the latest language learning software, specially designed for our students and to complement teaching to enhance the interpreting component of our language modules.
