Course programme

• Selection is by interview. • Plus completion of the Level 2 Motorcycle Studies qualification or equivalent, plus Level 2 English and maths Course Content • Diagnose and rectify motorcycle system faults; chassis, engines, fuel and air systems, ignition systems • Health and safety. How will I be assessed? You will be assessed by a range of methods including projects, assignments and coursework, and you will also be set externally verified computer-based online examinations. You will have a portfolio to keep your assessed work in. Progression Level 2 will give you the skills that are required within the industry and help you to gain employment or move on to an Apprenticeship or Higher Education. Level 3 will give you skills that are required within the industry and help you to gain employment or complete an Advanced Apprenticeship. Those who complete this course may progress on to the Certificate of Supervisory Studies within the automotive industry. Fees • If you are aged 16–18 as of 31 August on the year of enrolment – no course fee. • If you are over 19 as of 31 August and enrolling on a full-time programme of study a tuition fee will be applicable in most cases. Bursary funds There are financial support arrangements for 16–18 year olds and hardship funds available for the over 19s.
