There are no specific entry requirements. However, you will be invited to attend an informal interview to assess your suitability for the course.

Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

It is a learning programme which involves you studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:

• motorsport vehicle construction and routine maintenance
• operating principles of motorsport vehicle engines, tyres, brakes, steering and suspension systems
• operating principles and maintenance of motorsport vehicle transmission systems and electrical and electronic systems

You also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace, and other skills associated with working on competition vehicles.

You will study and receive on satificatory completion, a City & Guilds 3267 Introductory Welding Certificate in MetalArc Gas Shielded Welding. The element of theory involved will enable you to answer the verbal questions on welding health and safety, and your chosen welding process.

The course also includes:
  • NOCN induction award
  • NOCN level one award in progression
  • one key skill to level one
  • City & Guilds 3267 Introductory Welding Certificate.


When can I study?:
9.00am to 4.30pm, three days per week

Are there any exams?:
A variety of practical tasks and assessments, online and paper exams throughout the qualification.
