About this course

Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance at your last place of study or work. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 4 (C) or above is required, along with GCSEs in two other subject areas at grade 4 (C) or above.



Successful completion of a level 2 Motorsport Diploma is essential.

Year 1

The level 3 Diploma in Motor Sport is a vocational subject-based learning programme covering all elements both the theory and practical aspects of the motor sport industry including getting vehicles race ready, rules and regulations in motor sport, health and safety in motorsport, motorsport steering and suspension, brakes, engines and transmissions.

Additional information

The course is designed to give you hands-on practical experience on carry out diagnostic and repair procedures and so is delivered and assessed practically in the most part with an element of written assessments to ensure systems theory is understood, coupled with online exams. Your tutor will provide explanations and demonstrations and guide you through practical activities. Practical assessments are based on observations of practical activities, while written assessments are based on completions of written assessments. On completion of the course you will earn a full IMI level 3 Diploma in Motor Sport. You will complete a portfolio of evidence covering workshop tasks and related online exams and phase tests for each topic you study.
