Moving and Handling of People

Aims of the course

To ensure an understanding of what Moving and Handling is and the training needed

To raise awareness of musculoskeletal injuries and the impact they can have

To have a basic knowledge of the spine and general back care

To be familiar with legislation relevant to Moving and Handling at work

To be aware of the principles of safe Moving and Handling

To be aware of the importance of risk assessments in Moving and Handling

To ensure good practical skills of walking, sit to stand, moving in bed, use of slide sheets, stand aids and hoist / sling use.

Target group :Carers, personal assistants who must have a general knowledge of Moving and Handling and use of equipment in their workplace.

This course carries 6 hours CPD time and is accredited by the CPD Accreditation Service.
