This course aims to develop the knowledge and skills of students in preventing injury to themselves and others when performing moving and handling techniques. Topics will include legislation relating to moving and handling, the spine and its vulnerability to injury, ergonomic approach, risk assessment, principles of safe moving and handling, and low-risk moving and handling techniques.

There are no specific entry requirements, however candidates must be physically fit to undertake the practical assessment, and would benefit from a basic understanding of care environments although this is not essential.

What's it all about?:
This course aims to develop the knowledge and skills of students in preventing injury to themselves and others when performing moving and handling techniques.
