To give delegates the confidence and knowledge to form their own conclusions when carrying out risk assessments, planning training courses and recommending equipment. Suitable for workers with a responsibility for moving and handling risk assessments of clients or patients, together with a responsibility for training others in safer handling skills. Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and others who have responsibility for carrying out manual handling risk assessments and training.

About this course
As a trainer you need to understand how people learn and how to construct a course which shows an understanding of the legal framework surrounding moving and handling along with the factors and principles to be considered when carrying out a manual handling risk assessment. You will learn how to demonstrate practical methods and devices be used to reduce the risks to others, whilst observing and correcting them.
You will feel confident that what you are teaching is relevant, current and compliant. Learn from other trainers and peers, you will understand how and which laws are relevant and be able to justify why you teach the strategies and techniques you do in a logical way.

- Competency Based Practical Sessions, including sit to stand, slide boards, bed moves and hoisting
This course is a nationally recognised qualification, accredited by the Open College Network. Delegates are assessed in a variety of ways during the four days to ensure that they have met the learning outcomes of the three modules.
Please note that attendance at all four days are compulsory.
