Course programme
The moving image forms a significant and expanding area of contemporary art practice. New technologies have transformed the relationships between traditional film, video and digital formats, offering new opportunities for experimentation.
On this course you will be encouraged to make use of video, 16mm film, installation, digital editing, sound and animation to develop your creative ideas and build a strong conceptual and technical basis for your development as a creative artist.
Course structure
The course is taught through a series of lectures, seminars, visiting artist and guest lecturer talks, group critiques, individual tutorials, technical workshops and a screening programme.
You can choose to take a three-year BA(Hons) degree or a four-year MDes integrated masters-level qualification.

Art and Design Foundation Diploma. Interview and portfolio review. Direct entry to year 3: foundation degree or DipHE in related subjects, practical or professional experience. Direct entry to year 4: honours degree or equivalent in related subject, and work or creative practical experience. Ability to work at postgraduate level. Direct entry to year 3 requires a foundation degree or DipHE in related subjects, or practical or professional experience.
