MSc in Mid-Life, Pre-Retirement and Life Planning
The MSc in Mid-Life, Pre-Retirement and Life Planning is a research project which enables students to demonstrate the ability to work independently, with supervision, in an area relevant to life planning.
The work may be either:
- An Empirical Study involving the systematic gathering and analysing of data with reference to some question(s) to be answered or hypotheses tested. The data may be gathered from published literature only, or also from other sources of relevant information.
- A study of Recent Development in pre-retirement education or mid-life planning using first hand sources of reference. The sources may be written only or also include information from personal encounters.
- A Critical Enquiry to enable in-depth examination of a concept, theory or policy.
- A Critical Reflection on a series of visits, undertaken for a specific purpose. The reflection must be set within a theoretical context.
A dissertation of 12,000-15,000 words must be produced.
