About this course
An honours degree, recognised in the UK at 2.2 or above, in any subject. A condition of all offers of a place on the MSc Nursing (Adult) will be the completion of a portfolio which includes evidence of how your first degree and prior experience relates to nursing and relevant practice experience. Guidance will be offered on how to complete the portfolio following a successful interview.

Course programme
This course provides you with the experience, skills and credentials you need to practice adult nursing in the UK, in two years rather than three. You'll spend 39 weeks on placement - with mentoring and support throughout - and study in Hallam's cutting-edge facilities.
This course equips you with the expertise, interpersonal skills and managerial ability needed for adult nursing. You'll study theory and practice in our modern facilities, and you'll apply your skills across 39 weeks of practice-based learning. These placements take place across the region, with leading healthcare providers.
Throughout, you'll be supported by the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing, and will be assigned a fully-qualified adult nurse as a mentor. Graduation ensures your eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Work placements
Practice-based learning is central to your development, and you spend 39 weeks of your course on placement. You gain experience in a diverse range of adult nursing settings, such as caring for acutely ill adults in their own homes.Placements are across South Yorkshire and the Humber, with some of the UK's leading healthcare providers. On your placements, you are assigned a qualified and experienced adult nurse as a mentor. They support you and make sure you are comfortable in your surroundings, so you make the most of the experience.You work with old and young adults with critical and acute health care needs. Adult nurses also assist with longer term and palliative care requirements. Work may be based in hospital wards, clinics or community settings.
