Join our internationally renowned School of Biological Science based at the heart of the Norwich Research Park, where 100% of our biological research is recognised as ‘internationally excellent’ (REF 2014). Our integrated Biological Sciences course gives you plenty of optional modules, giving you the opportunity to study many different branches of biology up to Master’s level in your final year.
Our school has world class academics and some of the best facilities in the country including our undergraduate practical laboratories. The majority of learning will take place in lectures, seminars, practical laboratory classes and fieldwork providing you with invaluable contact time with lecturers, while learning through first-hand experience.

Course programme

Year 1 is common to both Plant Science and Microbiology Specialisms. You will study a common broad first year for both Plant Science and Microbiology specialisms which covers all the essential areas underpinning plant science and microbiology including evolution, ecology, biochemistry and cell and molecular biology. Towards the end of your first year you will select your specialism and follow one of the pathways.
