Introducing your course
Southampton’s MSci Biology and Marine Biology is the perfect balance for students wishing to develop their understanding of the living world from the molecular level to entire ecosystems across both terrestrial and marine biology.
Taught by leading scientists at Biological Sciences and at Ocean and Earth Science, at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS), it combines core concepts with a broad choice of modules.
Your research skills will be enhanced with a series of terrestrial and marine field trips with locations in the UK, Spain, Bermuda or the Galapagos.
In your final year you will get the opportunity to work alongside one of our cutting edge research groups in Biology or Ocean and Earth Science completing an extensive (50% of your final year) research project.
Our Biology and Marine Biology degree awaits accreditation by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) which has accredited our other Marine science degrees.
