PHYS2006 Classical Mechanics
Year 3
Currently, the third year is undertaken at one of our overseas partners, which include Pennsylvania State University, the University of Bergen and James Cook University. For administrative purposes, students are enrolled on SOES3044 and SOES3043 which houses modules taken at this University. More detailed information on the specific modules you will be taking will be provided nearer the time.
During the summer vacation prior to Year 3 the students will complete SOES3021 Geophysics Field Course.

Year 4
You will take two compulsory modules, including the Advanced Independent Research Project in order to ensure you have a full geophysical education. You also take up to three optional modules, depending on modules taken during the third year.

For those students who choose to take SOES6059 Basin Analysis there will be an opportunity to work on data related to and to potentially compete in the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) Barrel Award (SOES6064) as an alternative to the Group Project. This option is only available to a small number of students, selected from those who would like to take the course.
