Overview At a glance Learn how to work effectively in a laboratory. The course covers performing basic laboratory analysis, maintaining equipment, calibrating test equipment, processing and recording data, communication and teamwork. Application Mode Distance Courses/Units Thirteen (13) units must be successfully completed - six (6) core units and seven (7) electives. (minimum of 4 from Group A) Availability Distance Education Duration12 months Intake Dates Enrolments are taken throughout the year on a continuous basis Hours of Study Approximately 605 hours of study time will be involved. The training duration will depend on the electives and study mode selected. Career Opportunities Employment outcomes may include laboratory technicians, instrument operators and similar personnel. Entry Requirements There are no entry requirements for this course. This course is available to students who wish to study externally however they should be working in a laboratory or must attend practical blocks at the Campus. If working in a laboratory, the scope of the work needs to be assessed in relation to program requirements. For those not working in a laboratory already, the course also runs on campus.
