Introduction
"This is one of the areas of most confusion. Authorities involved in child protection complained that they couldn't get the information they need [from each other]..." The Walport/Thomas Report on Data Sharing
Multi agency information sharing is an issue which is surrounded with confusion. Over the years there have been many media headlines about public authorities failing to share information on important matters such as child protection and criminal activities. The Coalition Government's plans to tackle benefit fraud, to release more offenders into the community and to encourage more public sector joint working arrangements mean that this will be even more of a hot topic in the coming year. This workshop will guide you through the maze of legislation and suggested good practice in this area and give you a checklist for compliance. The latest ICO codes and guidance will also be discussed.
