My experience with the intercultural environment at MBS:
Amazing. The overall international experience was great. I was able to meet a lot of people from different nationalities and different backgrounds. This made the classes very complete and interesting, and gave us the opportunity to learn from each other’s lives and professional experiences. In addition, during my semester abroad I also got to experience living in a foreign country while learning a new language and getting to know a different culture. I believe all these intercultural interactions are very important for future professional relationships and for my personal development.
What I liked most about my studies at MBS:
I liked a lot the "Business Project", where together with a team of 6 people, we had constant contact and interaction with the company Naver (Communications company in Asia). As a final project we had the task of presenting a full entry strategy plan for the German market. This was one of the best experiences I have had, because we were able to work closely with Naver and their product department, acting as consultants. This gave me a fulfilling and real business life experience and the opportunity to present or results to and gain insight into one of the most important communications companies in the world.
Advice I’d give to people being interested in the Master’s program at MBS:
1) Be prepared to work with very different people with very different backgrounds. Meaning: If you come from a pure financial background don’t expect everyone to be as knowledgeable as you in these topics, but rather try to explain to them what they don’t understand. On the other hand, be ready to get challenged in other issues you might not know that much about. You have to be a team player!
2) Try to get involved with as many people as you can. A lot of the learning you do at Business School comes from the people and not the teachers themselves.
3) Buy a planner. You will need it, especially if you are not very organized. You will have work due every week and new tasks on a daily basis. You don’t want to forget anything!

Advantages of doing a Master’s Degree at MBS:
One of the main advantages MBS offers is its very experienced team of professors and lecturers most of whom come with highly senior experience from leading companies in the business world, such as Audi, BMW, Ernst & Young and many others. In addition, when I started my Masters at MBS, I wasn't quite sure which area of business I wanted to focus on. Thus, the fact that MBS lets you pick Marketing, Finance and two more concentrations of your choice in the first semester provides you with the opportunity to try out the different concentrations and really get a feel for what you will be specializing in. At first, my goal was to concentrate on Luxury Management and Entrepreneurship, however, after the first semester I decided that my true passion lies in Innovation and Marketing. All in all, MBS lets you customize your academic curriculum based on individual preferences, wants and needs.
Advice I’d give to people being interested in the Master’s program at MBS:
Just do it! MBS is a great school. You’ll have a great time and learn a lot. The school offers everything you can ask from a private Business School. It’s well known, well ranked, and highly prestigious. It prepares you for your future job by offering practical experience, very diverse curricular activities and soft skills training. Unlike other schools that put the main emphases on theory, MBS goes the extra mile to prepare you for the future by giving you the full set of skills needed to be successful in today’s very competitive labor market. All in all, MBS is the perfect choice for those who want to excel in the business world and aspire to a successful career.
Student life at MBS means …
…FUN! The student life at MBS is really great. From the very first day, the so-called “Orientation Day”, our entire class of International Business students became friends and met up regularly for social events. This included a great atmosphere when working on the many projects, workshops and presentations we held in all our courses at MBS. In addition to many very entertaining activities during our leisure time.

Why I chose to study at MBS in Munich:
MBS gave me the opportunity to broaden my knowledge as well as being able to specialize in certain areas, which are rarely offered at other universities. I also liked the fact that the class was full of people from all over the world. Working with people from different cultural backgrounds was great practice for my future career.
My experience with the intercultural environment at MBS:
It was very well organized. MBS hosted many field trips, which gave us the opportunity to get to know each other more closely. I also participated in the buddy program, which gave us the chance to regularly interact with and learn from each other. Building international teams is very different and it was challenging and fascinating alike to practice intercultural cooperation on a daily basis.
The most valuable things I have learned from my studies at MBS:
The most valuable thing I learned from my studies at MBS was the intercultural network - first during my time in Munich with all the international students as well as in my time abroad. We had excellent teachers from all over the world, which was an amazing experience for me. I didn’t only gain a lot of international work experience, but also made friends for life.

My parents thought that Germany was a very interesting country and that one would get to know and experience an entirely different culture here. Thus I came to Germany and attended the Hermann-Hesse-Kolleg in Horb, a language school in Baden-Württemberg here in Germany, where a lecturer told me about MBS. I then looked up MBS, talked to my parents, and visited MBS myself to meet the study advisor there. I liked it a lot and I finally applied. One important reason for my decision for MBS was that there are so many ways to get into contact with various companies.
The cultures are actually not all that different as I thought. I managed to settle in pretty fast. My fellow students and the MBS staff members are always willing to help if you have any questions. The language isn't a great problem either because most people in Munich speak English. Nevertheless, it is better if you also speak a bit of German.
Usually, I go to university at nine o’clock, but of course it does depend on your classes. About noon, I usually grab something to eat at one of the nearby shops and share a meal with my friends in the MBS Lounge. After classes, I either go home or do something with my fellow students. In summer, we like to go to the beer garden together, have a beer and enjoy the weather. There are also regular events at MBS, where you will meet people from various companies. You will get interesting information there and have the opportunity of talking to representatives of large companies.

I study International Business because, in my opinion, an international study focus has been getting more and more important nowadays. We live in times characterized by increasing internationality. As an employee, you are no longer bound to a certain location but are instead able to work anywhere. International Business offers the chance to gain economical expertise not only on a national, but on an international level as well. For me, a pure business administration study program would not have been sufficient.
I chose MBS because there are small classes with no more than 30 fellow students at the very most. This familiar atmosphere provides room to ask any kind of questions and discuss various views. The international background of the students and lecturers guarantees an intense exchange of experiences nonetheless. In addition, I really liked the option to select two business concentrations. The basic courses taking place during the first semesters provide an overview of the different business areas, enabling you to make a decision on which concentrations to pick. Furthermore, I liked being able to gather practical experiences during the three internships as well as international experience during my semester abroad.
My concentrations are International Marketing and International Human Resources Management. I picked International Marketing because during my basic courses I noticed that I am really interested in this area. I can imagine working in the marketing field later on. International Human Resources Management was my second choice because I eventually want to work on the management level. Even if I won’t, it is a huge advantage to know a thing or two about the different leadership styles.

In the Bachelor International Business study program, students get brilliant and profound insights into diverse disciplines that include accounting, marketing, finance and many other fields. Not only do students get in-depth theoretical knowledge of many subcategories of these modules, but the professors employ a very high practical teaching method, which enables students to apply what they learn in the real world. Moreover, they also get the chance to learn a new language during this program and even have the opportunity to select a geographic specialization based on the language they have chosen.
