Equipment required There is a studio fee for the year of £100 which is payable at the start of the course. 5. Assessment method You will study: Working in the Music Industry Professional Development in the Music Industry Planning & Creating a Music Product Exploring Musical Composition Working as a Music Ensemble Exploring Computer Systems Producing a Musical Recording Most of the course is undertaken during timetabled sessions, but you will be expected to practice your instrument, do research and complete some written assignments outside these sessions. This can be done at home, although you are welcome to come in and use the college facilities if you wish. You will be assessed on your coursework. This will be made up of performances, practical demonstrations, audio recordings, video evidence, presentations and written documents. The Functional skills in Maths and English are assessed by exam. The final qualification will be a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Music.
