This is a busy, exciting two year vocational programme based in the purpose built Performing Arts Centre. The course designed and structured around the development of your creative music performance skills and their application to the creation of specific projects. You will study the training and rehearsal techniques needed to develop and improve your skills and knowledge, and take part in the planning and production of practical performance projects. You will explore a range of popular music genres and musical theatre, as well as other forms and styles of music performance and performance centred course.

What will I study?
This is a busy, exciting two year vocational programme based in the purpose built Performing Arts Centre. The course designed and structured around the development of your creative music performance skills and their application to the creation of specific projects. You will study the training and rehearsal techniques needed to develop and improve your skills and knowledge, and take part in the planning and production of practical performance projects. You will explore a range of popular music genres and musical theatre, as well as other forms and styles of music performance and performance centred course.

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
There are trips to a range of performances and venues during the course, both locally and nationally. There are also opportunities to participate in international trips, workshops and activities. Previous departmental trips have included Paris and New York.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is primarily through observation and presentation of practical performance projects supported by written coursework, group critique and individual tutorial. Students are encouraged to assess themselves enthusiastically and honestly, and to critique their practical projects positively. There are no examinations.
What can I do afterwards?
This course provides excellent training for progression into Higher Education, or to work in the performing arts and entertainments industries. Students can go on to study for a higher qualification in a area of music performance or the wider performing arts at University, college or Drama school. Students can develop their own individual performance career path or go straight into work in the wider industry.
Are there any additional costs involved?
You will be expected to provide £30 at the start of the first academic year towards necessary textbooks, workshops and theatre visits. There will also be extra potential costs for optional events and excursions that complement the curriculum.
