The Programme
This full time modular course is aimed at giving people the skills they need to work in the music technology industry. It is coursework based with no exams. In a normal week you will attend for three days, but you may also be expected to work outside college hours for recording sessions or for live gigs. It is important that if you have a part time job that it is flexible and can fit around this.
The Programme Content
The course is split into 18 units or modules. The modules all relate to Music Technology, but some are aspects you may not have thought of. For example you may study Recording, Sequencing, Acoustics, Use of Computers, Research Units, History of Pop Music, Music Theory, Listening Skills, and the Music Business. The main aim of the programme is to produce professionals who are capable of seeking work in a range of fields (from Recording/Live Sound Engineer to film music composition). Students will produce written, recorded and sequenced work and PowerPoint presentations.
