2. Course description Summary: This course is designed for students who wish to build upon the three disciplines of acting, singing and dance. Course description: In the first year, students will concentrate on the technical skills required for each discipline. The second year will fuse together the skills to create a variety of musical showcases and productions. Over the two years, students will study: - Musical theatre performance - Rehearsing for performance - Performing to an audience - Audition Technique - The performing arts business - Historical context of performance - Acting techniques - Contemporary theatre - Tap - Ballet - Jazz dance - Vocal technique. Generally classes are practical and workshop based with an integration of theory. All projects will work towards a public performance. Students will participate in public performances and become part of our theatre company, Platform Productions. The company's artistic policy is to provide theatre of the highest quality within the local community and beyond. Platform Productions embraces the talents of young people and provides a hub for learning, training and development.
