Nail Technician

This course includes both the Manicure & Pedicure and UV Gel Nail Extension courses.
Day 1 - Manicure & Pedicure
Using massage, exfoliation and intensive mask treatments the condition and appearance of the nails, hands and feet can be transformed. You will learn:

• Nail diagnosis
• Cuticle work
  
• Massage of lower limbs
  
• shaping nails
  
• Application of French and block enamel
  
• Exfoliation and effective treatment for dry & hard skin areas
• In-depth therapeutic massage of the hand, arm, foot & leg
• Application of paraffin wax, specialist masks and heat treatments
• Enamelling techniques.

Day 2 - UV Gel Nail Extensions
Gel is sometimes called a 'pre-mixed' system as it does not need another product or chemical for it to work. What is does need however, is an ultraviolet light to make it cure or set. This course will teach you professional nail preparation and tip application/blending techniques, application of gel, maintenance procedure and removal of nail extensions. Other subjects covered in this course:

• Professional ethics
• Client consultation and record keeping
• Safety and hygiene in the salon
• Contra-indications to the treatment
• Preparation of the client and materials
• Maintenance and removal of nail extensions
  
• Application of gel
  
• Client aftercare.
