The focus of this course is performance in the three disciplines of dance, drama and music. Devising, rehearsing and performing will form the basis of much of your work and you will be encouraged to develop your own individual style. Whilst it is not essential that you have studied drama, music or expressive arts at GCSE, a pre-requisite for this course is that you have had recent performing. Suitable for: This course is suitable for students that enjoy performing and have an interest in dance, drama and music. About this course
A minimum of 5 A C GCSE subject passes, one to be in Drama including a minimum of 2 grade Bs, one to be in English Language. Applicants will also have to attend an audition.

Who is the course for?

What is the course about?
The focus of this course is performance in the three disciplines of dance, drama and music. Devising, rehearsing and performing will form the basis of much of your work and you will be encouraged to develop your own individual style. Whilst it is not essential that you have studied drama, music or expressive arts at GCSE, a pre-requisite for this course is that you have had recent performing experience and that it is an experience you enjoy.
Will I need anything else?
The course does plan visits to performance events and venues, and students are encouraged to attend these activities.
How long & often do I attend?
The course has 4.30 hours of guided teaching time per week, but students will be required to engage in self directed learning during practical modules.
How will I be assessed?
Students will be assessed on the research and development of their work through external written and practical examination.
What opportunities will this lead to?
You could progress to a BA Hons degree in Dance, Theatre Studies or Music. Following this you could enter employment in teaching, performance and arts management.
