Naturalistic guide course

A Naturalistic or Environmental Hiking Guide is someone who professionally exercises the activity of conducting safely, ensuring the necessary technical assistance, for individuals or groups visiting the whole territory, in visits to parks, nature reserves, areas of value or environmental protection. o sites of environmental interest as identified by current legislation, providing news and information of naturalistic, landscape and environmental, anthropic and cultural interest, without altitude limits (as sanctioned by the recent sentence of the Constitutional Court n.459 of 12/14/05) and without the use of means for progression; in relation to the means by which the activity is carried out in the context of the Naturalistic-environmental Guide profession, regional regulations identify the specific professional figure of those who carry out the activity on horseback or with another animal or vehicle. The activity is generally carried out as a collaborator of tourist agencies, associations or public bodies that manage parks and nature reserves. Its activities may include in protected and non-protected areas: planning itineraries; organize the visit itineraries; disseminate and implement environmental education programs; accompany with a didactic role; guide the group of tourists stopping at the most interesting points; illustrate the geological, faunal and botanical characteristics of the area; carry out communication, dissemination and usability projects for the protected areas themselves. The activity of the nature guide is usually seasonal.
