About this course

Minimum of 2 Standard Grades at level 3 or equivalent, or achievement of the Access to Construction or Engineering courses. Entry is subject to successful discussion at an information session and candidates must be physically fit to an industrial acceptable standard.

Course Aims:
This course will provide you with a good understanding and develop your practical and theoretical skills in both bricklaying and hard landscaping. · Bricklaying (Cavity Wall, Steps, Decorative, Arch Building), · Ground Working Skills · Drainage · Construction, Technology · Mono Blocking · Path Laying · Concrete Work, · Health & Safety · Construction Drawing · Kerb Laying, · Plastering, Rendering & Roughcasting · Communications, IT, & Numeracy

Progression Opportunities:
Successful candidates may secure employment or apprenticeships, within the industry. Knowledge gained on the course would also give, you confidence to become self-employed.

Career Potential:
Careers could include apprenticeships in the construction industry or, self-employment in hard landscaping areas

Course Assessment:
Assessment will be on practical and theoretical skills that the student, has attained throughout the course.
