Course programme
Learners will gain knowledge and expertise in areas such as materials and testing, structural mechanics, health and safety, civil engineering technology and mathematics. The course is designed to give learners a firm grounding in civil engineering subjects in order to gain an understanding and experience of the civil engineering world. This will include an insight into how the Industry works, the range of opportunities contained within it. You will develop skills to help lead onto a possible apprenticeship working in areas such as Motorway Design and Construction, Water Supply and Treatment and Bridge Building. The two year part time programme allows you to build on your knowledge and experiences and prepare you for an apprenticeship or to develop further into full time studies programmes in Civil Engineering (HNC), Built Environment (HNC), leading to a degree level programme.
